pof has built on the new official Dingoo firmware, and released something which consolidates lots of recent goodness:

My modified version of official 1.20 firmware, includes the following: * Based on official 1.20 firmware (Y/B bug fixed!) * Supports custom themes (system folder visible) * Default language set to english * Megadrive emulator fixed to use the quick double buffer technique * Added NeoGeo Pocket emulator * Added Game Boy Color (GBC) emulator * Overclock apps included (select from 200Mhz to 430Mhz) * Nice boot & logoff screens * Fixed typos in english translation * Default brightness set to 3 * Auto Poweroff set to 1 hour == INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS == 1. Copy all the contents into the root dir of your dingoo internal UDisk. 2. Switch off your dingoo 3. Press and hold DOWN in the D-PAD 4. Switch on your dingoo, firmware will update. Wait 5 minutes. 5. Reboot your dingoo == DISCLAIMER == I take no responsibility for any conflict, fault, or damage caused to your Dingoo by flashing this unofficial firmware. Full caution is advise, do not flash if you don’t know what you’re doing. Tested on 3 Dingoos and worked fine on all them.

So i updated it a320, cannot play gba games. freezes with loading screen. i see that others are having same issue but i am wondering if a solution was ever found?

  2. dingoo-digital.com says:

I was having that same issue, there is an answer located here.

    http://www.dingoo-digital.com/forums/i-need-help/my-gba-roms-arent-worki

Basically in the update there isn’t a proper gba.cfg file. All you have to do is ensure your gba.cfg file from your backup is located in the same file as the gba.sim file, and you should be good to go.

  3. dingoo-digital.com says:

i see that there is now no gba.cfg file, but how do i make sure gba cfg file is in same as gba.sim? ahaha sorry

  4. dingoo-digital.com says:

Just make sure the .cfg and .sim files are in the same GAME folder. It was a typo. You might be able to find an old .cfg in an older version of the firewire.

  5. dingoo-digital.com says:

Did you test this on an A330 by any chance?
Or was it just for A320s?

  6. dingoo-digital.com says:

After flashing this to my dingoo my emulators stopped working and now I can’t play anything else but native games. Also the overclocking tools won’t do anything and the theme is same as before flashing but the system information says “Version V1.2-pof” and startup and logoff screens have changed. I just can’t open any games because there’s no games, I copied the games to dingoo after flashing

    ***FIXED!***

I pressed “Update jukebox” from music menu and now I can play again

  11. dingoo-digital.com says:

i cant seem to find that folder on my dingoo, cus a while back i formatted it by mistake is there any way we can solve this problem?

  12. dingoo-digital.com says:

root directory is just the main folder that everything is contained in.

  13. dingoo-digital.com says:

    Hello,i have a small problem

I just got my Dingoo yesterday and the first thing I did was throw this firmware on it to get the OC ability and hopefully make some roms (like Tetris Attack) run smoother. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to activate any of the OC options. I go to Native Apps, then scroll to Overclock and whenever I choose ANY of the options available, it just freezes my system and I have to do a hard reboot to use it again. Any help?

  16. dingoo-digital.com says:

I’m bricked now too. I tried installing this last night and now I’m stuck. I get the white w/multicolored stripes screen. I’ve tried the Unbricker tool with no success.

Last night I tried another unbricker and actually got the globe with the message, “Firmware Upgrade…”, but after leaving it plugged in for two hours, still nothing. The program showed it was still flashing.

Is there anyone that can help? What if I send you my Dingoo, can someone unbrick it for me?

  19. dingoo-digital.com says:

Is there any reason to download firmware v1.22 being that this fixes most things? Does anyone know what firmware v1.22 changes?

  20. dingoo-digital.com says:

can someone repost or supply a link the existing one does not work

  21. dingoo-digital.com says:

When I go into native apps, overclock, and I select a CPU speed, my dingoo just freezes. Otherwise, the firmware update went smoothly. Did I do something wrong?

I have to use the hardware reset button to get back to the home screen when it freezes.

  22. dingoo-digital.com says:

Mine Dingoo freezes too, but only on 430 MHz. The oher ones work normaly

  23. dingoo-digital.com says:

Evrything works excpet the changine themes. Other than that i love it!

  24. dingoo-digital.com says:

I received my Dingoo today and I am very impressed with it. I read here that so many have issues with the CFW and makes wonder if it is worth it. It looks like it would be. I have installed all of the emulators that run natively and put all the roms I want on it and it is AWESOME,,, just tinkering with the idea of CFW. Would like to hear from more on the good things it has done for them and the ease of the install.

  25. dingoo-digital.com says:

What is root dir and where is it located

  26. dingoo-digital.com says:

  31. dingoo-digital.com says:

I’m bricked now too. I tried installing this last night and now I’m stuck. I get the white w/multicolored stripes screen. I’ve tried the Unbricker tool with no success.

Is there anyone that can help? What if I send you my Dingoo, can someone unbrick it for me?

  32. dingoo-digital.com says:

I was wondering, if I turned down the overclocking settings could I extend battery life? Also, how much can I turn it down until GBA emulation is effected?

  33. dingoo-digital.com says:

In my opinion, every Dingoo user that uses native firmware should use this. It’s really easy to put on the Dingoo and it helps a lot.

  34. dingoo-digital.com says:

it updates fine, just cant seem to find the folder to put the custom themes in please help.

    im new to the dingoo.

  40. dingoo-digital.com says:

Hey guys I’m trying to play the Pokemon Trading Card Game rom on my Dingoo with this new firmware. I’ve renamed it to .gbc to no avail. Game Boy Color games like Pokemon Gold work, but games like pokemon trading card game and pokemon blue and red don’t work.

    Any ideas guys?

  41. dingoo-digital.com says:

Can I use it on new Dingoo with factory firmware or I have to flash it using Flash Tool with some older edited firmware?

  42. dingoo-digital.com says:

Does it support old gb roms (*.gb) or only gb color and advance?

I’m sorry for stupid question. I Know I should simply try. But I still wait for my handheld, because it is not easy buy it in Czech Republic. And meanwhile I wait, I’m very curious and collect as much information as posible.

    Thanks.

  43. dingoo-digital.com says:

Just rename your old .gb files to .gbc and they will work fine in the emulator. Just as the original gbc supported gb games, so does the emulator; however, the dingoo doesn’t know which emulator to load up if the files don’t have a .gbc extention.

    Happy gaming,

  44. dingoo-digital.com says:

I did as the post says but all I get is a quick flash of the Bios updating window and then its gone. After the quick flash it goes to the main screen and no pdate.

  45. dingoo-digital.com says:

Did you get it to work? I followed the instructions too and was not able to but then I tried something slightly different and it worked.

  46. dingoo-digital.com says:

    what did you do?

  47. dingoo-digital.com says:

It worked for me too! Very nice! Thanks

  48. dingoo-digital.com says:

works very well, nice to have the button fix along with custom themes!

  49. dingoo-digital.com says:

I installed to the point that the progress bar was full, then a320 Dingoo planet screen was displayed, and that’s where it stopped. I had to pin it to reset, and it appears bricked now. Does it need to stay on the world screen for a very long time after bar is filled?Am i missing a step?

  50. dingoo-digital.com says:

i suggest using the flash tool, since i used that aswell to update mine

  51. dingoo-digital.com says:

Since i am waiting for my dingoo to come in, i am wondering about how i am going to update it.

Do i need a certain program for the firmware to install, or will i just need to follow the instructions.

  52. dingoo-digital.com says:

No you don’t need it. Updating the firmware on a mac is very simple, just follow the instructions.

  53. Russell says:

Didn’t work? Just froze when booting
