Howdy all, just got my dingoo last week and have been using it quite a bit (Which is impressive as I have 2 small children).

Anyway, I have one of the dreaded Pawed units; I've been told it's not great, but no one has yet to tell me why.  If anyone could fill me in, I'd appreciated it.

I've noticed that the overclocking apps that came included with my custom 1.22 firmware seem to have absolutely 0 effect.  I was benchmarking Doom and Mario Golf Advance on GBA and overclocking to 400 seemed to maybe increase my framerate by a single FPS.  It seems to me that the overclocking doesn't work; or I'm using it wrong.  Either way more info would be spectacular.

Thanks!

It's not quite as simple as "pawed Dingoos are bad, unpawed Dngoos are good." In fact, my experiience has shown that the opposite is true, as well.

To really evaluate your Dingoo, forget about paws and serial numbers and firmware versions. Focus on what apps and emulators work and what ones don't. If, for example, your Dingoo came wth a bunch of numbered games wth a .jgc extension which you can play via the GBA emulator, chances are very high that you have a "good" Dingoo. If you can run third party native OS emulators like LynGoo, ProoSys, SMSGoo, and GnuBoy (without installing Dingux), you have a "good" Dingoo.

Pawed or not, if your Dingoo can't run third-party apps and/or emulators for the native OS, it's a "bad" Dingoo.

I always thought the pawed units were the good ones!!

I have had mine nearly a year now and mine is one of the original pawed dingoos before they started messing around with the hardware and all this pawed, unpawed, HK serial number nonsense!!

When I bought mine they all had paw's. I run custom firmware, virtually every emulator on native OS and dingux without issue. Never been bricked. Works like a charm.

Peace be with you Brothers.

Well I got mine about a month ago in Canada from www.gocybershopping.com and it's a pawed HK one, and it really works great. Everything I've tried so far works, Gnuboy, SMSGoo, TG-16 emu, all the native emus, additional apps, etc. Battery life is really good, 8-10 hours+ easily. I'd also read (after purchasing of course) that the HK pawed version being sold now was a piece of crap, but mine is great! I also use a 32GB microSD with no problems. Only thing I haven't tried yet is Dingux only because I have plenty to keep me busy
