Programming Opportunity- Porting Dingoo Firmware
Hi, everyone. In a few recent posts (http://dingoo-digital.com/forums/other-consoles/jxd-v3), sightlight and I have been discussing gathering a group of programmers/developers, graphic artists, and testers doing a full reprogramming of the JXD V3 (http://jxd.cc/en/product_view.asp?id=324), or copying the firmware from the Dingoo into the V3. sightlight explains in a recent video review(http://www.youtube.com/user/sightlightx#p/a/u/1/bS0ufvYIgwQ) that this model has the power and potential to be amazing at what it does, yet no one has taken full advantage of that capability. Please help us to improve the power of this handheld, and make it the 'second alternative' for the Dingoo!

we dont know anything yet about the specs. http://jxdv3.webs.com/ help us :(
1. and 3. Infomation insuficient
4. Closed source. I'm pretty sure some one can figure something out, though.
i will open my JXD V3 as we speak and take pictures of everything.
i cant find any thing to open my JXD V3 cause the screws are litle, i will have to wait until i get to my other house and look for one there (i know i have them there, and alot!)
Alright, cool! But are you willing to use your V3 as the test subject?
I agree but will it be worth it....
Just because it can emulate doesn't mean the processor will be able to handle a linux Kernel.
Do you know how much onboard memory it has other then internal storage memory?
Does it have a Micro SD or Mini SD expansion slot if not that could hinder any development like Dingux
Another question are the emulators builtin or are they in file format like the Dingoo like MD.SIM GBA.SIM if they are built in to the hardware that could hinder the project also as it would be very hard to fix the emulators for the native end. At the point it would be a full on hack the system and come up with a Dingux similar system... With BooBoo out of the picture the only people I know who could maybe pull it off would be JoyRider and MTH but they are busy working things for the Dingux....
dav, will it brick my jxd v3? (ouch just got it)
mine has 8gb internal flash memory, micro sd expansion slot as well. some people say it has a 500 or 533mhz samsumg processor.

Non-detailed Specs

1. Does it have the same processor a ChinaChip processor is it WIP/MIP?
2. It doesn't have shoulder buttons and is just as flimsy and the controls look like the suck pardon the pun but the controls look bad if not worse then the Pandora in a very hard place to get too etc.
3. Does it allow Linux is the OS open source or closed source?
4. Is there a Developers SDK like the Dingoo or is it all closed source in house
